VCC will now a team member in Michigan. Having our roots in Ohio, Michigan is public enemy #1. I had to set aside my emotions on this choice and make the rational decision of hiring for talent and VCC’s future.
For the last 18 months, Bill headed his own practice analyzing and providing recommendations for optimizing strategic meeting management (SMM) initiatives for large corporations. That focus was inspired by his work at Amway Corporation where he led a team of 18 professionals for five years.
Bill is a well-known addition to the VCC team. We worked together for nearly ten years at Experient, formerly known as Conferon. He rose through the ranks during a high-growth period…from managing the start-up of Conferon Express to leading a high-performing team as Regional Vice President.
In 2015, Bill has made frequent trips to Orlando serving as Chief Customer Officer with Zentila, a strategic sourcing solution for meetings & events. We’ve had a chance to connect on numerous occasions and compare notes on the future of meetings. His professional growth in meetings strategy has impressed me and ultimately drove the decision to ask him to join our team.
VCC is laser focused on large and/or complex conferences and tradeshows. Our team has earned the reputation for progressively helping our profession shift to 21st Century conference education and networking experiences. Before those improvement initiatives can be realized, they must be in alignment with the event’s business model: it’s strategy, purpose, target audience and revenue. Getting this right, requires a foundation of thorough analysis and deep insight. Analysis to insight is VCC’s greatest differentiator today and is a muscle that will continue to mature with the addition of Bill!
