What does the leader of your future look like? A significant number of newer and younger leaders do not have the skills and personal qualities to take on the demands of the 21st Century. A recent study found that nearly one-third of current managers and leaders lack management abilities. Many fail at their jobs not because of problems with the task, knowledge or strategy. They fail because they lack interpersonal skills. They have poor working relations, low adaptability and the inability to build effective teams. These derailers describe personal and interpersonal that are outside the realm of their technical skills. Successful leaders have high EQs (Emotional Intelligence Or Quotient) which is the ability to effectively manage their own emotions and the emotions of others while building effective teams.

- Define and describe emotional intelligence and how it is critical to the success of leadership.
