Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss?
I’m a big Dr. Seuss fan. Like many of you, I can still quote some of his books as they are embedded in my memory and soul. Dr. Seuss had a magical way of introducing us to critical issues and foundational knowledge through rhyme, poetry and whimsical illustrations.
In honor of Theodore Geisel, here are a few of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes.
Why fit in when you were born to stand out? ~ Dr. Theodore Geisel
Thriving innovative organizations want employees who are willing to take chances.
If you’re a meeting professional, are you willing to take risks? Try something new? Experiment at your next event?
If you’re an association professional, are you willing to test pilot new projects? Step away from the status quo in the name of bringing something fresh to your members? Can you create experiences that allow all of your members the chance to step up and stand out?
If you’re an educator, are you willing to let go of old habits in the name of learning? Can you unlearn the unproven ways? Can you embrace new learning paths?
Are you that person? Can you handle it? Can you speak your mind? Can you jump through flaming hoops fueled by the unkind?
If you are, then you will do well at work and in life; in fact, welcome aboard, no worries, no strife!
I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities. ~ Dr. Theodore Geisel
How often are you willing to observe life from the wrong end of a telescope? Who said that everything has to be done a specific way?
Can you let your imagination run free as you ask, “Why not?”
Get out of your established rut and try something new. Stand on your head. Walk in someone else’s shoes. Get on your knees and view the world from a five year olds perspective.
And by all means, laugh!
If things start happening, don’t worry, don’t stew, just go right along and you’ll start happening too. ~ Dr. Theodore Geisel
Instead of cussing and fuming when things go awry, sit back with a smile and don’t question why. Go along with the journey knowing a twist and a turn, makes life more enjoyable, unpredictable for sure.
Oh, the things you can find if you don’t stay behind. ~ Dr. Theodore Geisel
Information depreciates. What you learned in high school and college has decreased in value today.
We have to commit to lifelong learning. If we don’t continually refresh or minds with new information, new insights, new education, new experiences and new learning, we will fall behind!
What’s your favorite Dr. Seuss quote? Why do we let go of curiosity and discovery when we get older?

Hi Jeff, awesome post.
I think the same when you say “What you learned in high school and college has decreased in value today.”
